Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is seeking a Painter to join our team in Monterey, CA. The role covers interior and exterior painting, surface prep, varnish and stain work, and protective finishes on a luxury property.

Responsibilities include following work orders, masking and protecting areas, applying coats with brushes or rollers, and maintaining safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED is expected, with prior painting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information.

Responsibilities

• Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect surfaces.
• Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisor.
• Smooths surfaces and removes old paint to prepare surfaces.
• Fills holes and joints with filler.
• Selects paints and prepares color matches.
• Sets up ladders or scaffolding and protects surfaces during painting.
• Paints surfaces with brushes or rollers or spray.
• Washes surfaces before painting and applies finish effects.
