Job summary

BHC is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues in Charleston. You will patrol, document hazards, enforce hotel rules, and report violations, emergencies, and safety concerns.

Responsibilities include monitoring cameras, coordinating with the Emergency Response Team, issuing radios, inspecting bags, escorting non-employees, and readying reports; the role requires integrity, discretion, and good communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; security or law enforcement training preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of security or military/law enforcement experience, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills under pressure.
• Understanding of emergency procedures, surveillance equipment, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Protect hotel guests and colleagues at all times.
• Review logs and maintain records for the daily shift.
• Issue radios and keys to designated personnel and safeguard records.
• Escort non-hotel personnel at the colleague entrance.
• Inspect bags and advise on security procedures as required.
• Monitor after-hours access and document authorization.
• Coordinate with emergency services and Director of Loss Prevention.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and respond to alarms and incidents.
• Investigate thefts, disturbances, and guest complaints with reports.
