Job summary

Bergdorf Goodman is seeking an Assistant Buyer in New York City (onsite) to participate in vendor selections, inventory monitoring, and price change analysis. You will support the Buyer and liaise with vendors and store teams to ensure seamless product flow.

Responsibilities include order management, market preparation, and in-season analysis. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Assistant Buyer experience in luxury retail, plus strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience as an Assistant Buyer, or equivalent, preferably in a major department store or luxury retail.
• Strong knowledge of retail math concepts including markup, margin planning, open-to-buy and inventory productivity measures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Buyers, Associate Buyers and brand partners to confirm order details and updates to buy sheets.
• Oversee offshore Merchandise Assistants in PO creation and transmission, ensure timely delivery and accuracy.
• Provide allocation direction to Planning Allocation team for high-touch categories.
• Communicate receipt flow changes to offshore team to maintain accurate ship window visibility.
