Job summary

Exemplar Luxury Group, including Neiman Marcus stores, seeks a skilled tailor to perform alterations, resizing and restyling of luxury apparel. You will support fitters with expertise in fit, alterability and quality across a range of fabrics and garments.

The role requires tailoring operation experience, ability to read English instructions, and numerical accuracy for measurements. A strong attention to detail and quality control is essential for success in this fast-paced luxury retail

Qualifications

Experience in tailoring operations or industrial sewing environments.
Ability to read English and understand instructions from managers.
Ability to perform basic math for measurements and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

Alter constructed garments to Neiman Marcus quality standards, equal or better than original construction.
Alter seams, venting, shoulders and sleeve adjustments as required.
Rotate sleeves and shorten sleeves as needed.
Shorten back, collar, and square shoulders for proper fit.
Shorten coats, re-line or remake pockets as requested by the customer or supervisor.
Operate and maintain sewing equipment and tools.
Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
Complete alterations assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
Interpret written and oral instructions accurately and apply them to work.
Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
