Job summary

Shinola Detroit is seeking a Room Attendant to clean and prepare guest rooms to the hotel’s standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues. You will retrieve supplies, replenish amenities, and maintain carts and storerooms with a focus on safety and efficiency.

As part of Sage Hospitality Group, you will contribute to a stylish, guest‑centric environment at the Shinola Detroit property. This regular full‑time role offers growth opportunities and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
• Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways; wash shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stalls; restocks supplies to ensure adequate guest amenities.
• Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature that has been removed by previous guest or is soiled and torn.
• Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operate vacuums up to 25lbs, move heavy furniture as needed for cleaning.
• Inspects doors/windows, locks and room equipment; reports maintenance deficiencies to management.
