Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas is seeking an accomplished Lung Transplant Surgical Director to lead and expand our lung transplant service. The role blends clinical excellence, surgical leadership, and strategic program development to drive exceptional patient outcomes and growth of a high-performing transplant program.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent with board certification in Thoracic Surgery.
• Fellowship in cardiothoracic or thoracic transplant surgery preferred.
• Extensive lung transplant experience with a strong surgical record.
• Leadership experience in a transplant program or surgical department.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical leadership for the lung transplant program.
• Perform lung transplant surgeries and related thoracic procedures.
• Develop program strategies to enhance quality, outcomes and volume.
• Ensure compliance with UNOS, CMS and other regulatory standards.
• Mentor and supervise surgical staff, fellows and residents.
• Participate in research initiatives, clinical trials and publications.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic program growth.
