The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine is seeking a Nurse Navigator for the Lung Cancer Program at Walter Reed Bethesda.

You will coordinate care across pulmonary, oncology, and surgical services, support patients and families, and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, manage clinic flow, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience; oncology or pulmonary experience preferred.
• Active nursing license in Maryland; BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Coordinates lung cancer patient care across pulmonary, oncology, and surgical settings.
• Organizes Multidisciplinary Thoracic Tumor Board and ensures data availability for review.
• Provides education and resources to patients and families to support coping and self-care.
• Handles calls from patients/families with questions about care.
• Collaborates with physicians and health care providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates lung cancer clinical practice guidelines.
• Assists in discharge planning and referrals to optimize outcomes.
• Collects and analyzes data for quality improvement in lung cancer care.
• Contributes to policy development and standard operating procedures for patient care and research.
