Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students and others in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented environment.
• Ability to supervise children in an orderly and consistent manner following guidelines from the principal.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions with elementary school age children.

Responsibilities

• Greets and relates to students, teachers, visitors, parents, administrators, and staff in a polite and professional manner.
• Promotes a positive lunchroom environment for students and staff.
• Assists with tasks contributing to a neat cafeteria, including wiping tables and picking up trays.
• Maintains order and acceptable noise levels in cafeteria and serving lines.
• Assists students with needs such as opening milk cartons and thermos bottles.
• Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline issues to the appropriate authority immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
