Job summary

Goddard Public Schools is seeking a Lunchroom Supervisor to provide supervision and behavior management during lunch periods.

You will monitor students, assist with lining up for food service, mediate minor disputes, and help maintain a safe, orderly eating environment while promoting positive conduct.

Attendance requires up to four hours per day when students are in attendance, with duties focusing on safety, order, and respectful interaction during meals.

Qualifications

• Must have a pleasant demeanor and ability to work with all age groups.
• Previous work experience; ability to work with elementary age students and keep confidential information confidential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lunchroom routines and help line up students for food service.
• Monitor student behavior in the lunch area.
• Mediates simple disputes and contacts administration.
• Help clean and maintain orderly lunchroom.
• Supervise students in eating area and manage transition to class.
• Support structured environment including lessons, personal hygiene, supervision and behavior management.
• Ensure no one cuts in line or accesses exit doors.

LUNCHROOM SUPERVISION POSITION

Provides lunchroom support for behavior modification and safety during food service periods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Assists in regular routines, including but not limited to, assisting with student line up for food service in the lunchroom during food service periods.
2. Follows district and building expectations for student behavior.
3. Monitors students as they enter and leave the food service area.
4. Mediates in obvious arguments and immediately gets administration representatives on the scene.
5. Assists in cleaning and maintaining general orderliness.
6. Supervise students the entire time they are in the eating area and assist in getting them moving to class on time.
7. Assists students with structured environment including, but not limited to lessons, personal hygiene, supervision and behavior controlling techniques.

OTHER JOB DUTIES (Others may be assigned)

• Keeps an eye out for students cutting into line or going in serving area exit doors, particularly at the beginning of each lunch period.
• A classified employee may be transferred at any time to any job which he/she is qualified to perform and when the transfer is deemed to be in the best interest of the district.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a pleasant demeanor and ability to work with all age groups;
• previous work experience; knowledge and ability to work with elementary age students, and the ability to keep confidential matters confidential as they pertain to students, teachers, administrators, parents and patrons.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

Up to four hours per day when students are in attendance. Sick day, personal days and vacation day allowances are included in the district personnel policy.
