Job summary

Olivet Community Schools is seeking a Lunchroom Aide for a part-time role serving Fern Persons Elementary and Olivet complex. The aide assists students during lunch, opens milk cartons and food packages, helps younger students, and supports clean-up efforts.

The position emphasizes reliability, a positive attitude, confidentiality, and the ability to stand, walk, and maintain a neat lunchroom. Hours follow the school calendar August through June.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with children or students is preferred.
• Ability to work positively and patiently with elementary and/or secondary students.
• Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students and school matters.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform routine cleaning and lunchroom duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students with lunch-related needs and questions.
• Wiping tables and cleaning up food spills and messes.
• Assisting with trash and maintaining a clean, orderly lunchroom.
• Monitoring and encouraging appropriate student behavior.
• Supporting a positive and welcoming environment for students.
• Regular dependable attendance is a critical performance factor to ensure high quality customer service.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Lunchroom Aide

• Part-time position: Approximately 3 hours per day, hours TBD by building principal
• Up to 6 total positions available, assignments at Fern Persons Elementary and Olivet Middle School/High School complex.
• School year position. Student Days: Approximately August to June.
• The primary responsibility of this position is helping students during lunch, including opening milk cartons, food packages, and other items, assisting younger students as needed, and helping with clean up.
