  • Assist with set up, replenishment, and cleanup of food buffet lines.
  • Assist with organizing lunch cards and ringing them through the POS system.
  • Communicate with students and staff in a positive, professional manner.

SUMMARY: The position provides supervision and assistance to students during school-based lunch time. Responsible for maintaining order during lunch and recess activities and providing support to Lead Food Service Worker. Responsible for monitoring student behavior during meal time and assisting with the cleanliness of the cafeteria, recycling, and the flow of meal service.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

  • Work up to 2.5 hours each day, up to 4 days per week.
  • Supervise classes of 20+ students in grades K-5 and maintain order of class while at lunch and recess.
  • Manage safety and oversight of students during meal service.
  • Assist with set up, replenishment, and clean up of food buffet lines.
  • Assist with placing and organizing child lunch cards and ringing them through the point of sale computer system.
  • Communicate with students, school staff, and lead food service worker in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and
    interpersonal skills.
  • Support health and safety of students: Assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria: check the dining room for cleaned tables, chairs, and overall
    environment. Ensure students are seated at the correct allergen table.
  • Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served to assist students. Encourage good table manners.
  • Walk students from classrooms
