Washington County Public Schools is seeking a Lunch Assistant at Fountaindale Elementary School to supervise students during lunch and playground periods under the principal's supervision. Responsibilities

• Supervision and management of up to 90-100 students in the cafeteria.
• Have students maintain a minimum noise level.
• Have students maintain good table manners and good discipline.
• Address disturbances and react positively with students.
• Distribute lunch condiments (ketchup, etc.) at the tables.
• Help students with trays, opening thermos bottles, etc.
• Assist with dismissal - guides students in an orderly fashion from cafeteria to classroom.
• Wipe the tables after each group of students.
• Supervision and management of 90-100 students on the playground.
• Dismiss students in an orderly fashion from the cafeteria or classroom to the playground.
• Help students organize playground games when needed.
• Resolve minor student conflicts in a diplomatic manner.
• Work cooperatively with others with the aim of fostering a friendly work environment.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.

This is a temporary employment position that is not entitled to the rights governed by the Negotiated Agreement between the Board of Education and the Washington County Teachers Association, Inc. or the Negotiated Agreement between the Washington County Educational Support Personnel. Temporary employees are paid on the hourly rate established at the time of their employment. Temporary employees are not guaranteed employment or any specific number of hours. Length of employment and hours are determined by the principal.
