Job Summary

Lunch Aide/Recess Aide:

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals
• Maintains regular attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Circulates among tables during mealtime to assist children or resolve problems
• Supervises students and maintains a cooperative atmosphere during recess
• Circulates among students and attempts to resolve minor issues
• Immediately reports serious disciplinary problems to administration

Early Morning Aide and Crossing Guard:

• Directs or escorts pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as needed
• Guides vehicular or pedestrian traffic at street crossings
• Monitors traffic flow to find safe gaps for crossing

Physical Demands:

• Work involves standing, sitting, and walking
• Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing
• Uses hands for grasping and manipulating objects
• Involves bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate

Reports To: Principal/Vice Principal
