Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Fluid System Analyst for the Lunar Permanence Mk2 program. You will perform thermal and fluids analyses to define performance and operations for spaceflight systems, and contribute to hardware definition and trade studies across the product life cycle.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years in space applications, strong MATLAB skills, and experience with cryogenics and propulsion analysis. U.S.

  • More than 4 years of direct experience on space applications fluids & propulsion analysis.
  • Strong MATLAB programming skill and understanding of cryogenics and propulsion systems.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As part of a hardworking team of analysts, you will conduct thermal and fluids analysis to define the performance and operations for various spaceflight systems, define hardware requirement and resolve technical challenges. **We are looking for thermal/fluids engineers from intermediate to senior**as we expand our portfolio of space vehicles. You will take ownership or support analysis tasks of a complex fluid system by conducting 1D-3D thermal and fluids analysis and contribute to our product life cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission. Analysis team contributes to deriving component requirements, system test requirements, and system sizing and analyze flight or ground process. You will be responsible for documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and presenting results to stakeholders.**Minimum Qualifications*** Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering* Successful candidates have more than 4-year of direct experience on Space applications Fluids & Propulsion analysis experience* Strong MATLAB programming skill is required* Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics of cryogenics, hypergolics, and compressibles with relevant experience preferably in space industry (We are looking for engineers of all skill levels from beginner to advanced)* Experience with Thermal Desktop/SINDA/FLUINT* Have experience in running technical propulsion system trade studies* Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion* Work closely with other cross functional team as needed (e.g., systems engineers to develop and verify requirements, Design team to support sizing and trade studies, procurement to choose the best supplier)* Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change,...)* Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (Flow3D, CFD++, ANSYS Fluent)* Knowledge of other tools including MATLAB, Simulink, Amesim* Successful candidates typically have relevant proven experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systems* Advanced graduate degrees (Masters or PhD)* Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN)* Active/passive Thermal/Pressure Control System/component design### Base Pay Range for:CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20**Other site ranges may differ****Culture Statement**Don’t meet all desired requirements?
