Job summary

Blue Origin in Melbourne, FL is seeking an MLI Technician to provide hands-on technical support for assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace systems and hardware. Build multilayer insulation from drawings, perform fit checks, and assist with remedying issues while upholding rigorous quality and safety standards.

The role requires operating a range of tools, contributing to high-rate manufacturing, and supporting smooth transitions from development to production. U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or related field.
• Hands-on fabrication and spacecraft integration of fragile MLI films per specifications.
• Skilled with hand tools and interpretation of drawings/schematics.
• Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and depth gauges.
• Must be U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate subcomponents and final assemblies per specifications.
• Configure production work areas to optimize workflow during high-rate manufacturing.
• Operate precision tools to maintain safety and quality standards.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety and productivity.
• Perform operational tests, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on assemblies.
• Support transition from development to production and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S principles.
