Home Improvement Outlet is seeking a Lumberyard Material Handler to support residential building projects and logistics operations in West Monroe, LA. This full-time role involves moving lumber and building materials, loading/unloading with assistance, and maintaining organized inventory in a busy outdoor environment.

You’ll work Monday through Friday with weekends, gain hands-on training, and join a family-owned team that values safety and long-term career growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Move lumber and building materials to meet daily needs.

• Assist customers and contractors with loading/unloading heavy materials.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers to optimize loading dock operations.
• Follow safety and cleanliness standards to keep the work area hazard-free.

You will play a foundational role in our daily operations by managing the flow of critical building materials for our residential customers. How You Will Make An Impact

• Facilitate the efficient movement of lumber and building materials to meet daily customer and contractor needs.
• Execute the pulling and staging of complex orders to ensure accuracy for local delivery and pickup.
• Operate forklifts and specialized material-handling equipment safely following comprehensive internal training.
• Organize and maintain inventory levels across the lumberyard to optimize accessibility and workflow.
• Assist customers and professional contractors with the manual loading and unloading of heavy materials.
• Collaborate with delivery drivers to streamline loading dock operations and maintain strict turnaround times.
• Uphold rigorous safety standards and cleanliness protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment for the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to consistently lift and maneuver 50-75 lbs in an active, hands-on setting.
• Resilience and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proven reliability and a strong work ethic as evidenced by past professional or personal experience.
• Capacity to follow complex safety instructions and work effectively within a team-oriented structure.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction labor role.
• Basic functional knowledge of residential building materials, including lumber grades and panel types.
• Prior experience operating heavy machinery or material handling equipment.
