Job summary

Marvin Home Center in Warroad, MN is seeking a Lumberyard Load Builder to prepare and load materials for delivery, interact with customers, and keep the lumberyard organized. Schedule is Monday–Friday with rotating weekend work.

You will use forklifts and hand tools, verify orders, and maintain safety and efficiency. Marvin offers health insurance, paid holidays and parental leave, a 401(k) with match, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely and proficiently use various tools (chop saw, table saw, etc.).
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (over 100 lbs).
• Familiarity with lumber species, grades, and dimensions.
• Knowledge of material handling techniques and forklift operation.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• A willingness to learn and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Loading and Unloading: Accurately pulling and staging materials based on order instructions, loading trucks, and unloading shipments.
• Material Handling: Utilizing proper techniques to prevent damage, ensuring materials are properly secured for transport, and operating machinery like forklifts.
• Inventory Management: Familiarity with inventory items, their location, and assistance with incoming shipments.
• Customer Service: Assisting customers with loading their own materials, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Safety and Maintenance: Adhering to safety and fire regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and reporting accidents and violations.
• Communication and Teamwork: Communicating with supervisors and drivers, coordinating with other team members, and reporting any issues or complaints.
