JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Lumber Yard Worker.

The Lumber Yard Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operations of our lumber yard. This position involves working outdoors and handling various tasks related to loading, unloading, and organizing lumber and building materials. The ideal candidate should possess physical strength, a positive attitude, and relevant experience in warehouse, construction, or manual labor settings.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive, inspect, and organize incoming lumber and building materials in the yard.
2. Load and unload trucks using forklifts and/or pallet jacks while adhering to safety guidelines.
3. Prepare lumber orders for delivery or customer pickup accurately and efficiently.
4. Organize and maintain the lumber yard, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
5. Operate machinery and equipment effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
6. Keep accurate records of inventory and perform periodic stock checks.
7. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements:

1. Physical ability to work outside in various weather conditions and lift/load materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
2. Previous experience operating forklifts and/or pallet jacks is preferred.
3. Solid work history in a related field such as warehouse, construction, or manual labor.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
5. Excellent communication and customer service skills to assist customers effectively.
6. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team to achieve common goals.
7. Adherence to safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
