Job summary

Bliffert Lumber is seeking a Yard Associate to support efficient yard operations and exceptional customer service. You will work with customers, drivers, dispatch, and store teams to ensure materials are received, stored, loaded, and delivered accurately and safely.

The role requires experience with measuring devices, forklift operation, and strong teamwork and communication. Expect outdoor work, lifting up to 75 pounds, and a fast-paced environment at our Wisconsin yard.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building materials and lumber products preferred.
• Ability to read and use measuring devices accurately.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift experience preferred; forklift certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds safely.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in retail customers, contractors, and B2B customers with material selection and loading.
• Pull customer orders accurately and prepare materials for pickup or delivery.
• Process returns with attention to detail and resolve customer satisfaction issues.
