Job summary

Williams Lumber and Home Centers in Pleasant Valley, NY is seeking a yard associate to support customer service, stock management, and material handling in the lumber yard. You will cut stock to size, prepare deliveries, and assist drivers with loading while maintaining safe, organized storage areas.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, with forklift familiarity and a strong focus on safety and reliability in a physically active outdoors

Qualifications

• Ability to read safety rules and manuals.
• Basic math for measurements and quantities.
• Willingness to perform outdoor yard tasks in varying weather.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by filling orders and confirming details.
• Cut stock to size using stationary power saw; record on cut sheet.
• Advise supervisor of low stock items.
• Prepare material for delivery and assist loading.
• Assist driver with loading and unloading at job sites as needed.
• Process Return Material Authorization forms (RMAs) when required.
• Maintain tidiness and safe condition of storage areas.
• Perform mowing, weed whacking and snow removal tasks.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
