Job summary

Lezzer Lumber is hiring a Yard Associate to support customer service and yard operations at our Manheim location. You will prepare delivery orders, load and unload merchandise, and assist in deliveries while maintaining safe, clean yard conditions.

The role requires basic math, knowledge of building materials, and the ability to operate a forklift. A positive customer-focused approach and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required or able to obtain certification.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for order quantities and verification of freight shipments.
• Knowledge of basic building materials and yard operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares customer delivery orders and loads on delivery vehicle as assigned.
• Unloads incoming freight, verifies, counts, and stores stock in designated areas.
• Identifies, tags, and stores incoming special-order merchandise.
• Loads and unloads customers and assists in yard deliveries.
• Performs basic yard housekeeping and keeps areas tidy.
• Assists in loading vehicles or unloading freight as directed.
• Maintains weed/grass control in yard and adjacent areas.
• Culls lumber and building materials for stock and usage.
• Levels lumber units and ensures safe stacking.
• Follows safe vehicle operation and general yard practices.
• Reports accidents, injuries, and property damage to the Operations Manager.
