Job summary

Rocky Mountain Building Solutions is seeking a Lumber Yard Associate in Colorado to support daily yard operations, loading and unloading materials, assisting customers and drivers, and maintaining a safe, organized outdoor yard.

This role involves physical work, outdoor conditions, and forklift operation after training. A high school diploma is preferred, with emphasis on reliability, safety, and teamwork. $18–$23/hour, full‑time, overtime possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required for seasonal help.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation (certification optional).
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work with a team.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber, rebar, and building materials for deliveries and pickups.
• Organize materials and maintain a clean, safe yard.
• Assist customers and contractors in locating and loading materials.
• Operate forklifts or assist operators after training.
• Receive, check, and stock incoming shipments.
• Report material issues or safety concerns to yard leadership.
• Follow safety procedures and support a positive team environment.
• Perform general cleanup and support tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

The Lumber Yard Associate supports daily yard operations by loading and unloading materials, assisting customers and drivers, maintaining yard organization, and operating forklifts under supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, being outdoors, and learning the building materials industry.

Core Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber, rebar, and building materials for deliveries and customer pickups
• Organize materials and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient yard
• Assist customers and contractors in locating and loading materials when needed
• Operate forklifts or other material‑handling equipment after training (or assist operators)
• Help receive, check, and stock incoming shipments
• Communicate material issues, shortages, or safety concerns to yard leadership
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment
• Perform general cleanup and support tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required for seasonal help
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally and perform physical work outdoors in varying weather
• Willingness to learn forklift operation (certification a plus, not required)
• Dependable, safety‑conscious, and able to work well with a team
• Construction, farm, warehouse, or yard experience is helpful but not required
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for occasional customer deliveries.

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-time, non-exempt position
  • Overtime available and/or required based on seasonality of the business
• $18 - $23 per hour commensurate with experience
