Job summary

American Hardwood Industries in Amissville, VA is hiring lumber stacker/general laborers for full-time work at a world class hardwood lumber facility. The role fits entry-level candidates who have warehouse experience or similar safety-conscious backgrounds.

You will sort, bundle, and prepare boards for shipment, using standard criteria for knot-free edges and proper bundle alignment. Training is provided and benefits include health insurance, paid vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a warehouse worker preferred.
• Previous experience as an entry level worker is preferred.
• Previous experience working on a farm is a plus!
• High School degree preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Identify the sort numbers for the carts you are responsible for and pull boards into the correct carts.
• Pile the boards with the longest edges on top, bottom, and outside and ensure edges are knot-free and defect-free.
• Bundle must be square with edge boards against the pipes of the cart and finish with a neat top layer.
• Build each bundle until full and finish off with a top layer for stability.
• Push out finished bundles for forklift to remove

Lumber Stacker General Laborer Pay & Benefits:

• Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $15 - $17/hour*
• Overtime Hours & Pay

Lumber Stacker General Laborer Requirements:

Identify the sort numbers for the carts you are responsible for. Pull boards into the correct carts according to the sort numbers on the boards.

Pile the boards with the following criteria:

• Top, bottom and outside boards will be the longest
• All edges will be free of knots, wane, writing and other defects
• Bundle must be square with edge boards against the pipes of the cart
• Build each bundle until full and finish off with a nice top layer
• Push out finished bundle for forklift to remove
