Job summary

Builders FirstSource is hiring a saw operator to cut lumber according to work orders and maintain safe, efficient operation on a loud, busy shop floor. You will adjust saws and feed speeds, inspect blades, and stack finished pieces for shipment. The role requires basic math, tape measure reading, and reliable attendance.

The position is a full-time, on-site role at BFS with team-based supervision and opportunities to learn and advance within a large, industry-leading materials supplier.

Qualifications

• Basic reading ability and ability to follow work orders.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret simple measurements.
• Excellent safety awareness and reliability.
• Willingness to learn saw operation.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
• Adjusts saw for required cuts and speed of feed rolls.
• Operates basic saw types and stacks cut lumber after processing.
• Advises supervisor of dull saw blades.
• Other duties as assigned.
