Job summary

Kight Home Center is seeking a Carter Lumber Sawyer to process cutting i-joists to specifications on-site. The role involves reading cut sheets, setting up machines for accurate cuts, and maintaining inventory and equipment servicing schedules.

Candidates should have lumber/manufacturing experience, be able to operate a forklift and chainsaw, follow safety procedures, read diagrams, work quickly, and thrive in a team setting. Growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, mill, or lumber environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift and chainsaw.
• Knowledge of safety procedures while handling saws and other tools.
• Possess manual dexterity and the ability to do repetitious work.
• Ability to read and understand diagrams and blueprints.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to work in inclement weather.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather materials needed to perform job according to requirements. Reads cut sheets to determine the amount, size and grade of material that needs cut.
• Sets up machines properly to ensure accuracy of cuts and quality of products.
• Maintains inventory by providing an accurate count of products and manages equipment servicing schedule.
• Meets daily, weekly and team related production goals and loads/unloads semi flat beds daily.
