Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using a machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Working in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player.
  • Sorting and rinsing dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils and placing them in racks for the dish machine.
  • Sorting and stacking clean dishes; carrying them to the cook's line and storage areas; re-washing soiled dishes as needed.
  • Changing dishwater in the dish machine hourly.
  • Washing pots, pans, and trays by hand.
  • Removing trash and garbage to the dumpster.
  • Setting up and breaking down the dishwashing area.
  • Cleaning and rolling/unrolling mats.
  • Filling/emptying soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Assembling/disassembling the dish machine.
  • Sweeping trash around the exterior of the restaurant and dumpster area.
  • Performing general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Wiping spills to keep floors dry.
  • Notifying the manager if dish machine cycles fall below safety standards.
  • Maintaining personal appearance according to company policy.
  • Displaying integrity and honesty at work.
  • Performing other duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to suggestively sell food and beverages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of restaurant experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Standing for entire shifts, frequent reaching, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, exposure to kitchen equipment, hot and damp environment, and moderate to loud noise level.
