Job summary

Cardinale Automotive Group, Morgan Hill, is seeking a Lube Technician to join our service team. You will perform routine oil changes, inspect fluids and tires, and communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.

We value eagerness to learn, teamwork, reliability and strong communication. Entry-level candidates with basic computer skills and a valid driver's license are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates encouraged; diagnostic, electrical and engine repair skills preferred.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to safety standards.
• Good communication, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Document and perform work on repair orders following dealership and factory standards.
• Drain oil and refill; replace oil and air filters; inspect fluid levels.
• Check tire pressure and adjust as needed.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to verify repairs.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Provide time estimates for additional services and inform Service Advisor.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specs.
• Keep shop area neat and maintain tools and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Document and perform work as outlined on repair order following all dealership and factory standards.
• Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters.
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary.
• Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Keep shop area neat and clean.
• Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
