About Transdev: Cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities across the U.S. contract with Transdev to operate their transportation systems, maintain their vehicle and fleets, and deliver on mobility solutions. Transdev U.S. employs a team of 32,000 across 400 locations while maintaining more than 17,000 vehicles.

We are now hiring a Lube Technician in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!

This position will perform routine and some non-routine maintenance work on vehicles (Primarily Class 8 Trucks and Pickups) which adheres to Transdev standards. This may include but is not limited to tire maintenance, conducting visual inspections of vehicles, and related work as assigned. Performs work under minimal supervision. All work is performed with a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs under moderate supervision.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
  • Clean vehicles as requested or required.
  • Other responsibilities as requested or required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (preferred).

Experience:

  • Beginner mechanical aptitude and 1 year of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Computer skills.
  • Comfortable using hand tools.
  • Strong customer service skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintain in a clean and safe manner.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Maintenance Shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
  • Ability to work under all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a crouched position or on back, lying on mechanic’s creeper, beneath motor vehicle equipment.
