Job summary

Lancaster Subaru is seeking an experienced Automotive Lube Technician to join our team. You will perform lubrication, safety inspections and other related services, reporting to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant automotive experience.
  • At least 1 year of working knowledge of automotive products, repairs and parts.
  • Secondary education in automotive field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills to translate customer needs into technician orders.
  • Authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for shop insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Sells lubrication, safety inspections and related services.
  • Maintains records on regular customers with periodic follow-ups.
  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
  • Replaces oil and air filters.
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to service advisors.
  • Documents all work performed on the repair order.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Ensures customers' cars are kept clean; notify service advisor of changes.
  • Keeps the shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc).
  • Operates all tools and equipment safely.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

In this position you would be responsible for performing work outlined on a repair order; and performing lubrication, safety inspections and other related services. You would report directly to the Service Manager.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum1year of relevant experience
  • Minimum1year of working knowledge and experience of automotive products, repairs and parts
  • Secondary education in the automotive field or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to translate customer needs to workable technician orders
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver's license
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under shop insurance policy (Not an excluded driver)
Essential Duties, but not limited to:
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy,in accordance withdealership and factory standards.

  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.

  • Communicates withthe partsdepartment to obtain needed parts.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions toserviceadvisors.
  • Documentsallwork performed on the repair order.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean.Notifythe serviceadvisorimmediatelyof anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keepsthe shoparea neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreastofandcomplies withfederal,stateand local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports any safety issuesimmediatelyto management.

Salary Range: $17.00 to $20.00
