Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of Plano is seeking a skilled automotive technician to perform routine maintenance and diagnostics in a fast-paced dealership environment. You will change oil, rotate tires, inspect fluids and components, and complete multi-point inspections while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or automotive training preferred.
• Ability to learn dealership processes and manufacturer standards.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service-oriented and friendly demeanor.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes.
• Rotate, balance, and inspect tires.
• Check and top off fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake, transmission, washer fluid, etc.).
• Inspect brakes, belts, hoses, wipers, lights, and batteries.
• Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to service advisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.
• Document work performed and recommended services.
• Assist senior technicians as needed.
• Provide professional, courteous service to customers.
• Duties may change as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses heavy equipment and exposure to noise, fumes, and automotive chemicals.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
• Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance
• May requires some driving and typing. Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity
