Position Overview

The Lube and Die Technician provides support for the Production and Maintenance groups. The Technician will follow machine specifications to ensure proper lubes are used, maintained, and disposed of correctly. They will also evaluate both new and existing dies to ensure they are ready for production, stored properly to prevent damage, and that inventories are maintained.

Essential Job Functions

  • Understand lube requirements through machine diagrams or instructions.
  • Handle and use lubricants properly.
  • Understand MSDS and HMIS requirements for materials.
  • Complete yearly RCRA Hazardous Waste Training.
  • Complete OSHA Hazard Communication training and tests.
  • Sign manifests for Hazardous Waste pickup and removal.
  • Maintain inventory systems for lubricant materials.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Understand calibration requirements for measuring equipment.
  • Organize and maintain die inventories.
  • Generate Purchase Requisition documents as needed.
  • Possess mobility to climb, clean tanks, and operate forklifts.

Job Requirements

  • Use measuring equipment to evaluate dies and their wear.
  • Use a microscope to assess die condition.
  • Be flexible to work during available equipment times.
  • May work with other functions as needed.
  • Desired Skills and Abilities
  • Read and understand dimensional requirements from prints and specifications.
  • Understand lubrication needs from manuals and schedules.
  • Use basic measurement tools such as micrometers and gauge pins.
  • Assist in engineering activities related to wire operations.
  • Follow ISO and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of plating and drawing processes preferred.
  • Experience with lubricant handling and disposal preferred.
  • Computer skills desired; training provided.
