Leprino Foods is seeking a Sanitation Team Lead for their state-of-the-art facility in Lubbock, TX. The role involves overseeing sanitation operations and training, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and effectively managing personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing and a strong understanding of sanitation processes.
For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking aSanitation Team Lead.
Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant becomes operational in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2.
Starting Pay: $30 with an additional $1/hr for time worked between 6pm and 6am

The Sanitation Team Lead supports the sanitation supervisor in providing daily guidance and support to the operations department, by assisting in CIP validations and verifications, sanitation related investigations, environmental monitoring and on the floor training in sanitation programs, processes, procedures and fundamentals. In addition, the Sanitation Team Lead is responsible for the supervision of the sanitation technicians.
Helps educate plant personnel on Sanitation Systems, including recordkeeping, eMSS, CIP V/V and Sanitation effectiveness
Helps troubleshoot sanitation issues within the plant by accumulating information and eliminating problems with a strong sense of urgency, in an efficient and effective manner.
Assists in the monitoring of sanitation program effectiveness to ensure food safety standards are met for the facility - HACCP Food Safety systems, SQF, etc.
Implements and maintains 5S standards and critical safety rules.
Promotes PPBTH by identifying opportunities by focusing on root cause analysis and preventative action.
As a sanitation subject matter expert, this position assists in the daily Sanitation floor operations to ensure production standards and quality parameters are set.
Assists in plant compliance efforts with sanitation systems, including recordkeeping, SSOP's, Master Sanitation Schedules and CIP effectiveness
Ensures the completion of periodic CIP V/Vs
Assists in root cause investigation during events with a (possible) sanitation component
Ensures perfect execution of the environmental monitoring program
Operates as a local subject matter expert on microbiological and sanitation issues, providing expertise in matters around sanitation and environmental monitoring and investigations
Builds and fosters strong working relationships, and collaboration within their team and across the plant.
Partners with production operations by actively helping them identify and solve quality opportunities and providing assistance with implementing systems to prevent recurrence.
Provides required sanitation training, including training in sanitation systems (like eMSS, titrations and CIP V/V).
Demonstrates and promotes safe work behaviors
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
1+ years of experience in food manufacturing environment
Deep knowledge of sanitary GMPs
Proficient in the fundamentals of sanitation (7 steps of cleaning)
Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems
Knowledge of and passion for quality methods and techniques, including HACCP concept for food safety, quality assurance standards
Must be able to work nights, Holidays, weekends.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Background in food technology, food science, dairy science, microbiology, or chemistry
Dairy manufacturing experience
Knowledge of CIP V/V software
