Job summary

Leprino Foods in Lubbock, TX is seeking a L2 Packaging Relief Team Member II to join our 600+ person cheese and whey facility. The role provides vacancy relief coverage for processing and packaging operations.

You will follow SOPs, support operations, perform LA makeup, CIP, adjust labeling, and uphold GMP and safety standards while contributing to the team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide vacancy relief coverage for all operator positions in Processing.
  • Follow SOPs and perform required job functions.
  • Support operations across the department as directed by supervisor.
  • Complete LA makeup and ensure proper application to product.
  • Assist with changeovers and equipment setup.
  • Record shift scrap and monitor production readings.
  • Maintain GMP and 5S standards and sanitation procedures.

Job description

For our future state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a L2 Packaging Relief Team Member II to join our team!

Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant became operational in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2.

Job Summary

The Processing Relief Operator is responsible for vacancy relief coverage of all operator positions in Processing.

Job Duties
  • Know and perform all required job functions for skilled operator positions as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support operations throughout the department as designated by supervisor
  • Complete LA makeup for the production day, and ensure accurate application of LA and Cellulose to product
  • CIP and production setup of the Z-Conveyor
  • Assist with team lead with changeovers
  • Collect, weigh, and record all shift scrap and redice
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, maintenance, team leads, and supervisors
  • Monitor operations in the label room with the taper, full box metal detector, and labeling equipment
  • Follow sanitation procedures of all equipment at shutdown
  • Complete assigned GMP and housekeeping duties and maintain 5S standards as required
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct
  • Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies
  • Complete paperwork accurately. Know and understand the normal operational readings for all data recorded and action to be taken if outside normal operations
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
  • Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
  • Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
  • Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • One year of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
