Job summary

East Side House in the Bronx seeks an LTW Assistant Director to lead the Learning to Work program in partnership with Lehman High School and DOE. The role focuses on staff management, internship coordination, and ensuring high-quality student support and postsecondary planning.

You will supervise Student Advisors, manage payroll and budget activities, develop new internship sites, and maintain accurate program records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• At least two years of youth services experience.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a school building.
• Demonstrated knowledge of community service and development.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Director to maintain good standing of East Side House and DOE site.
• Provide direct support for the Program Director in staff management and development; oversee LTW internship program.
• Supervise Student Advisors to meet attendance outreach goals and ensure postsecondary support.
• Ensure timely submission of fiscal documents, internship payroll on Paycom, and data reports to funders.
• Maintain updated records of all fiscal transactions and LTW internship budgets.
• Cultivate internship and job opportunities with community employers; maintain partner relations.
• Reach the minimum internship enrollment by February 1.
• Assist students with career goals, job search, resumes, and interview skills.
• Deliver curriculum on job readiness; facilitate seminars.
• Establish 2-3 new internship sites annually and manage contracts.
• Maintain progress tracking and weekly meeting notes in databases; report outcomes.
