Job summary

Travis Association for the Blind/Austin Lighthouse (TAB) in Austin seeks a Warehouse Logistics Associate to build TL/LTL freight shipments, coordinate with Supply Lead, Wave Planner and Warehouse Manager, and ensure accurate packing and shipment records.

The role requires a HS diploma, 2–3 years in warehouse logistics, and ability to operate pallet jacks and obtain forklift certification within 30 days. Strong organizational and math skills are essential; Manhattan Scale experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Verifiable high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prefer 2 to 3yrs experience in warehouse logistics.
  • Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks, and forklift certification within 30 days.
  • Strong organizational and math skills.
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Word, MS Excel, email and internet.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with San Diego Contract.
  • Build TL/LTL freight shipments for 3PL Distribution.
  • Coordinate activities with Supply Lead, Wave Planner, and Warehouse Manager.
  • Verify orders using RF Gun and compare items and quantities for shipment.
  • Ensure shipments are properly packed and identified with shipping information.
  • Prepare, process, and keep records of shipments (e.g., manifest, bill of lading).
  • Manage operating supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare periodic activity reports for management.

  • Proficiency in the use of computers including good working skills with MS word, MS Excel, email and the internet
  • A working knowledge of general warehouse management software will be a plus- current software used is Manhattan Scale

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, adjust position for 50% of time

Ability to work in extreme conditions with varying temperature, including cold and/or heat
