SMC Nursing Opportunities

SMC is currently looking for a PART-TIME DAY, EVENING, AND NIGHT shift RN to join our team.

Bonuses:

  • RN Full-time - $15,000
  • RN Part-time - $5,000

Summary

Provide professional nursing care to residents as ordered by the Medical Staff and outlined by the policies and procedures of Health Services. Assist in maintaining continuity of nursing care given to the patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess and meet residents' immediate needs.
  • Keep accurate and complete records.
  • Observe, record, and report significant changes in patient conditions to the physician or supervisor.
  • Learn about each resident's background and history; assist in planning and documenting their care.
  • Supervise, assign, orient, and teach assigned personnel.
  • Educate patients and their families about health and care.
  • Be aware of community resources for post-discharge care and assist in arranging them.
  • Explain LTC policies to patients, families, and the community.
  • Administer medications, treatments, oxygen therapy, and aerosols as per procedures and doctor’s orders; attend annual in-service training.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and handling supplies.
  • Participate in narcotic counts at shift end, ensuring accuracy before staff departure.
  • Contribute to Quality Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor medication administration by medication aides, ensuring adherence to standards and observing for side effects or contraindications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited associate degree, diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. One or more years of LTC experience is preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current Nebraska RN license.
