Job summary

Independent Living Systems (ILS) is seeking a Pharmacist in Miami, FL to join a Long Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team. You will dispense prescription medications accurately and provide expert counseling on proper use, interactions, and side effects, while collaborating with providers and staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist must hold a PharmD or PharmD equivalent and be licensed in the U.S.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmacy law is required.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and EHRs is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient counseling and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and verify prescription validity.
• Provide comprehensive medication counseling on dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and discuss alternatives when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and record-keeping.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and staff to maintain efficient operations.
• Participate in health promotion initiatives and immunizations where applicable.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
