Ozarks Community Hospital in Springfield, MO has an immediate opening for a full-time Long Term Care Medical Assistant (LTC MA) within our Medical Home department. Travel between Springfield, Nixa, and Republic.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides patient care in the office setting, addressing the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. Communicates effectively with patients and their families. Performs duties with initiative and professionalism under supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, physician, or clinic manager. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards. Collaborates with physicians and team members regarding patient’s clinical condition, including diagnostic results and symptoms.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting Program approved by the US Department of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or equivalent.
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (AMT, AAMP, AAH, AAMA, or NCCT). Certification must be maintained throughout employment to retain Level IV status.
  • Preferred: 1 year of related experience in a medical clinic or office.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire; if not available, certification must be obtained during orientation or at the next scheduled class. Must be maintained through renewal.
  • Float positions require a valid driver’s license.
