Overview

Are you a Lead Food Service Associate looking to work for an amazing organization by serving others and connecting with your co-workers?

Immanuel Communities is seeking a Lead Food Service Associate to work at Deerfield, located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323. Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites. Scheduled hours will be day shift during training, then 10:00am to 7:00pm, once trained (some flexibility may be possible). Must be able to work weekend shifts and holidays. Must have at least one year of supervisory/mentor/training leadership experience in serving those with altered dietary needs in a healthcare setting (retirement community or hospital).

This position will pay up to $21.00/hour (straight pay/no tips). Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required

What You Will Do

As a Lead Food Service Associate, responsibilities include working independently as a lead in dining services and ensuring food safety compliance. Prepares tables for meals, refilling containers, clearing dishes, handling food safely, attending to residents’ needs, training new dining room staff, and ensuring other Food Service Associates are completing tasks in a timely and appropriate manner. Facilitates a pleasant dining experience for the residents and guests who dine at the community. Will serve as backup to Team Lead of Food & Nutrition Services, perform float shift duties (when scheduled), and cover in the pantries when needed.

Skills & Requirements

One (1) year long term care dining room serving experience is required.

Must be comfortable utilizing computer applications for intakes, data entry, word processing/printing, and completing food orders online.

Strong communication and leadership skills required.
