ABOUT THIS POSITION:

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $17.00 - 19.00

WORK LOCATION: 63 Hunter Street, Apex, NC 27502 USA

SCHEDULE: 10-20 hours per week, including nights and some daytime/weekends. Hours and schedule will vary.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

This position involves assisting the Recreation Program Supervisor in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, with a focus on Senior Bus trips.

This position reports to the Recreation Program Supervisor and has no supervisory responsibilities.

A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS:
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating Senior Programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for Senior Recreational Trips, including transportation, scheduling, and itinerary planning, with on-site support during trips to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Manage trip-related paperwork such as name tags, medical information, and registrations.
  • Organize and execute evening and weekend senior programs monthly (e.g., Monday Trivia Nights).
  • Create marketing materials and promote programs via various media outlets.
  • Track data trends on class participation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, community members, contractors, and vendors.
  • Perform related duties as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Graduation from high school, must be 18 years of age, and available to work year-round.

WITH...
  • Some knowledge of planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and events.
  • Ability to adapt activities for various abilities.
  • Ability to follow directions and enforce rules.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus up to 100 miles each way.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of office practices, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheets, and IT applications.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills in customer service.
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
  • Experience working with seniors aged 55 and older.
  • Experience driving a 14-passenger bus.
  • Clerical and public contact experience.
