Woodgrain, operating in Leesburg, GA, seeks an LSBG FE Extruder Operator to run poly-coated millwork production lines with precision and minimal scrap. Reporting to the shift supervisor, you will monitor equipment, collect data, and collaborate with teammates to maximize output.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, the ability to read measuring tools, and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, with safety practices always in focus.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Extruder Operator is responsible for effectively and competently operating equipment used to manufacture poly coated millwork with minimal scrap/defects as possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor upstream parts to ensure they are within specification and effectively communicate with others to work out solutions for off-grade parts
• Collect and record processing data and ensure operating equipment is within the optimal settings; must be able to operate within very strict parameters and follow documented settings.
• Monitor other activities on the line and work/communicate with other team members to reduce downtime and improve output.
• Quick and efficient equipment setup to reduce downtime during changeovers.
• Monitor quality and understand how to resolve various types of defects

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods during a shift.
• Ability to read a tape measure, read slide and digital calibers, and other measuring tools and data collection equipment.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting/diagnostic skills required.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled environments.

Physical Demands

This position occasionally requires long hours and occasional weekend work. The employee is expected to be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks as required.

Travel

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
