Job summary

TurbineAero Repair in Chandler, AZ, is seeking a maintenance technician to perform maintenance, overhaul and repair operations on APU accessories, using required tooling and following OEM manuals.

The role requires working in multiple disciplines in the shop, inspecting, assembling and testing components, keeping records, and supporting continuous improvements. Candidates should have the required AA degree and 2–4 years of mechanical/aerospace experience, and be proficient with MS Office.

Qualifications

  • AA degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years mechanical experience involving similar equipment processes, measuring tools and assembly operations.
  • 2–4 years aerospace/manufacturing experience.
  • Must possess the necessary hand tools to perform position responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Auxiliary Power Units.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Willing to be flexible with work schedule and willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Tear down, inspect, and rebuild APU accessories under supervision.
  • Prepare documentation, including findings and test data.
  • Assemble equipment as required by OEM manuals and work instructions.
  • Light paint and touch up assemblies; read and interpret manuals and work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and service APU accessories; conduct diagnosis of malfunctions.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, overhaul and repair operations on APU accessories using appropriate tooling as required.

Requires working in various disciplines within the repair and overhaul shop.

  • With general supervision tear down, inspect, and rebuild APU accessories.
  • Clean parts and assemblies as required.
  • Prepare documentation, including findings and test data.
  • Assemble equipment as required by the OEM maintenance manuals and other work instructions.
  • Light paint and touch up assemblies as required.
  • Make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint and work instruction specifications.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals.
  • Read, interpret and execute work instructions.
  • May prepare reports and suggest improvements and modifications from data collected.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and service APU accessories.
  • Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Maintain FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.
  • Follow all company policies including safety instructions.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • AA degree (or equivalent experience) in related discipline.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 2-4 years mechanical experience involving similar equipment processes, measuring tools and assembly operations.
  • 2-4 years prior Aerospace/manufacturing experience.
  • Must possess the necessary hand tools to perform position responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Auxiliary Power Units.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Willing to be flexible with work schedule and willing to work overtime as needed.
