Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering from a recognized institution.
  • 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience with emphasis on configuration management, establishment and maintenance of Configuration Items, and planning and execution of reviews and audits.
  • Experience developing products required for DoD acquisition phase transition, with emphasis on Production and Deployment.
  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 10% of the time.
  • Current Secret or DoE L clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the LRSO System Program Office (SPO) Systems Engineering division.
  • Lead systems studies and analyses to support technical, programmatic, and organizational decision-making.
  • Lead studies such as systems architecture analyses, technology development planning and evaluation, organizational effectiveness studies, and risk assessments.
  • Plan and participate in Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.
  • Identify perceived systems engineering problems, recommend courses of action, and coordinate with inter-organizational personnel, program office points of contact, and customer contacts.
  • Support the SPO in developing products for different milestones.
  • Support the SPO in developing acquisition-related products (RFP, SOW, etc.).
  • Document work to corporate standards and provide timely technical recommendations via briefings and reports.

The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, development planning, system-of-systems engineering, and threat reduction to shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG supports major customers including the US Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, while offering a broad range of services across the national space enterprise and coordinating with the Space Force Space Systems Command on satellite, launch, ground control, and range systems.

Position

The Nuclear Operations Directorate (NOD) seeks an LRSO Systems Engineer to provide mechanical engineering support to the USAF Long Range Stand Off (LRSO) Program Office Air Vehicle group with development, test, and production of the LRSO Cruise Missile. The role requires hands-on experience in systems engineering, configuration management, and Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition phase transition. The candidate will interface with the government customer and contractors in support of the Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate (AFNWC/NDBD) within the USAF Nuclear Weapons Center and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The selected candidate will work full-time, on-site at our facility at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer - Systems and Mission Assurance Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering from a recognized institution
  • 8 or more years of relevant systems engineering experience with emphasis on configuration management, establishment and maintenance of Configuration Items, and planning and execution of reviews and audits
  • Experience developing products required for DoD acquisition phase transition, with emphasis on Production and Deployment
  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 10% of the time
  • Current Secret or DoE L clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required

Additional requirements for Sr. Project Engineer - Systems and Mission Assurance Engineering

  • 12 or more years of relevant systems engineering experience with emphasis on configuration management and related reviews and audits
  • Leadership experience in developing products for DoD acquisition phase transition, with emphasis on Production and Deployment
  • Experience supporting acquisition and operation of strategic weapons systems

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package based on performance. Salary range: $117,300.00 - $226,900.00 per year.
