UnityPoint Health is seeking an LPN for Younker 8, a fast-paced acute care unit focusing on respiratory and other acute/chronic conditions. You will deliver hands-on patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to implement plans for safe, high-quality outcomes.

• One year of CNA/PCT experience preferred.
• Valid Iowa LPN license is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on patient care within scope of practice, including administering medications and assisting with treatments.
• Support admission assessments by collecting and documenting patient data with the care team.
• Provide input during rounding and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Support safe care transitions by maintaining real-time documentation and hand-offs.
• Collaborate with RNs and providers to update care plans and ensure continuity of care across hospitalization.

Younker 8 is a fast-paced, collaborative acute care medical unit specializing in the treatment of patients with respiratory conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis, and a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical diagnoses. As an RN on Younker 8, you'll be part of a highly engaged team that partners with the Physician Internal Medicine Residency Program, contributing to innovative care models and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Contribute to admission assessments by collecting and documenting patient data, and collaborate with RNs and the care team to implement care plans, monitor progress, and support safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Provide input during rounding and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to ensure timely clinical response.
• Support safe care transitions by maintaining accurate, real-time documentation, participating in hand-offs, and communicating patient progress with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with RNs and providers to update care plans and ensure continuity of care across the hospitalization.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited LPN program required.
• One (1) year of previous CNA/PCT experience preferred.
• Valid LPN license in the state(s) of Iowa
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
