JOB DETAILS

We are seeking applicants for Treatment / Wound Care Nurse, LPN

$15k Sign on Bonus

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing, the Treatment Nurse is responsible for skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents’ attending physicians or the Medical Director of the facility, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license by State required with experience in long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where duties are performed.

Duties

  • Oversee all direct wound care activities to ensure practices are consistent.
  • Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents.
  • Manage and treat specific skin disorders.
  • Coordinate weekly skin rounds.
  • Perform assessment evaluations using observation and inspection techniques.
  • Confer with the Care Planning Team to develop the care plan.
  • Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocols.
  • Monitor preventive measures such as inspection, turning, and positioning.
  • Precept new nurses and demonstrate procedures to new nursing personnel.
  • Order and track supplies/equipment for prevention and treatment.
  • Assist in modifying treatment regimens to meet resident needs, following medical practices, regulatory guidelines, and facility policies.
  • Provide residents and caregivers with prevention techniques and health maintenance information.
