Job summary

The Claremore Veterans Home, operated by the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide wound care to residents on a full-time day shift. Under supervision, you will assess, treat, and manage wounds while educating patients and staff on proper care.

Candidates must hold a permanent Oklahoma LPN license and have at least three years of practical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: valid permanent Oklahoma LPN license plus three years of practical nursing experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: nursing techniques, infection control, medical terminology, sound judgment, and ability to follow instructions.
• Proficiency in English to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and manage wounds under supervision or direction of a RN or physician.
• Educate patients and staff on proper wound care and prevention.
• Administer medications as ordered and record patient status daily.
• Supervise staff performing medication administration and patient care.
• Complete performance evaluations and assist with care plans.
