Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an LPN for the night shift to provide compassionate patient care under supervision and in coordination with an RN and hospital teams. The role emphasizes confidentiality, patient rights, and adherence to Mercy Service Standards.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited LPN program and an active LPN license. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and STABLE, with MO LPN-IV certification preferred within hire timelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Consideration will be given to candidates with comparable education, relevant experience, and successful licensure
• Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state where nursing duties are performed.

Preferred Qualifications

Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification (Missouri only) - must be completed prior to hire or within 3 months of hire
• Additional unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to carry out job responsibilities
