Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri is seeking an LPN for the night shift with a 24-hour schedule and a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program and a current LPN license in the state where duties are performed.

Preferred qualifications include various certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, BLS, and Missouri LPN-IV where applicable) and other unit-specific credentials.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:
  Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Consideration will be given to candidates with comparable education, relevant experience, and successful licensure

• Licensure:
  Must obtain and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state where nursing duties are performed. The individual is responsible for meeting and maintaining all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications:
  One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position, unit assignment, or must be obtained within the department’s specified timeframe:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)

  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) through the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire)

  • LPN-IV Certification (Missouri only) – must be completed prior to hire or within 3 months of hire

  • Additional unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift

• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to carry out job responsibilities
