Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Waterside - Family Medicine department. This full-time role supports patient care across a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with a pay range of $24.10–$36.15 per hour.

The position requires BLS, an active LPN license, and completion of a Practical Nursing program; experience with EMR systems is preferred. The team emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians, and adherence to safety and quality

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries.
• Administers medications under physician orders, including IV therapy as permitted.
• Provides patient education and coordinates tests, referrals and follow-ups.
