The LPN Staff Educator is responsible for coordinating, developing, and conducting educational programs to support clinical staff development and ensure quality care standards. This role involves assessing staff training needs, implementing orientation and in-service education, and supporting continuous professional growth among nursing personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement orientation programs for newly hired nursing staff
- Plan and conduct in-service training sessions to meet ongoing staff development needs
- Evaluate staff competencies and provide remedial training as needed
- Ensure staff are up to date with mandatory education and certifications
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and department heads to identify training gaps
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities and staff participation
- Stay current on best practices, regulatory standards, and innovations in nursing education
- Assist with policy and procedure updates and communicate changes to staff
- Support performance improvement initiatives through education and mentoring
- Promote a positive learning environment and professional development among staff
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current and valid LPN license in PA
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care
- Prior experience in staff education or training strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively train individuals and groups in a clinical setting
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
